First generation iPod |
This is the original first generation iPod, also
called 1G It has a physically moving scroll wheel and firewire connection. Available in 5GB and 10GB hard drive sizes. It was made in Oct. 2001 |

Second generation iPod |
This is the second generation iPod, also called
2G It has a touch (non moving) scroll wheel and firewire connection Available in 10GB and 20GB hard drive sizes. It was made in July 2002 |

Third generation iPod |
This is the third generation iPod, also called
3G It has a 4 touch buttons above a touch scroll wheel and dock connector Available in 10, 15, 20, 30 and 40GB hard drive sizes. It has a plastic front and was made in April 2003 |

First generation iPod Mini |
This is the iPod Mini 1st generation, also
called Mini 1G It has a white click/touch wheel and dock connector It is smaller than the 3G and came in 5 colors Made of brushed aluminum and available in 4GB hard drive sizes. It was made in Jan. 2004 |

Fourth generation iPod |
This is the fourth generation iPod, also called
4G It has a gray click/touch wheel and dock connector There was also a U2 - 20GB version in black with red wheel Available in 20 and 40GB hard drive sizes. It was made in July 2004 |

called iPod Photo It has a gray click/touch wheel and dock connector Available in 20, 30, 40 and 60GB hard drive sizes. It was made in October 2004 |
